The Wharlest Jackson Sr Community Garden was established by the Miss Lou Heritage Group & Tours in honor of the former Natchez NAACP Treasurer who was bombed and killed during late February 1967.

Since no person has ever been convicted of his murder, we decided away to keep his name alive through growing food from the ground and community Wharlest Jackson Sr. gave the ultimate sacrifice LIFE.
